My Civil Air Patrol guys did great today on my squadron’s self-inspection: an overall Successful evaluation, 3 Commendable reports, and just 2 discrepancies, 1 of which was cleared up before the inspectors departed. My big takeaway: events, activities, and products of all kinds need to be documented. If we do good things, others need to be made aware of them with physical proof presented to evaluators. I do good stuff all the time for my squadron but I just do them: I don’t document or publicize them. That needs to change. Lesson learned.
